TERRAM® GRASSPROTECTA slip resistant grass reinforcement mesh is an improved heavy duty thick polyethylene grid for reinforcing and protecting grassed surfaces prone to wear, rutting and smearing which can result in a muddy surfaces incapable of withstanding vehicular or pedestrian applications.

GRASSPROTECTA has been has been developed with an oscillated mesh structure which is designed to increase traction and improve slip resistance by up to 97% compared to standard straight oriented meshes. GRASSPROTECTA slip resistant is a cost effective solution for :

GRASSPROTECTA grass reinforcement mesh is supplied on 2m x 20m, 2m x 10m & 1m x 10m rolls in two thicknesses (11mm & 14mm) as determined by the application and manufactured from partly recycled UV Stabilised polyethylene (Approx 20% recycled polymer).

Installation is very simple; After cutting the grass short, the grass protection mesh is unrolled and pinned to the surface using metal U-Pins or plastic pegs. By allowing plants to grow through the plastic mesh apertures, GRASSPROTECTA  mesh allows the grass sward to intertwine with the plastic mesh filaments creating a strong, discreetly reinforced grass surface capable of withstanding vehicle loads, limiting damage and reducing soil compaction. GRASSPROTECTA can also be installed onto newly landscaped areas with the soil seeded as required. Full installation and design specification is available from our TERRAM technical team.

FIBERWEB® strongly advise that newly installed GRASSPROTECTA grass surfaces should be left unused until the grass has grown through the plastic net apertures and a strong interlock has been achieved – normally after a few weeks during the growing season rising to a few months out of the growing season. This is to allow the grass to fully grow through the grass reinforcement net and allow the grass sward to create the strong interlock with the mesh. If the surface is used immediately grass growth may take a longer period of time and may limit the effectiveness of the product initially.

Fixing U-Pins

To secure GRASSPROTECTA grass reinforcement mesh to the ground, use our metal U-Pins at regular intervals. Full details of the amount of pins required per roll / area can be calculated by reading our Specification and Installation Guidance document download on our TERRAM website.

If your requirements are only to reinforce grass that will be used for occasional vehicle parking and heavy pedestrian use, GRASSPROTECTA Grass Protection Mesh would be the ideal solution, but turf reinforcement mesh may also be suitable.
