BST

The independent French research establishment S.M.I.D.A.P (syndicat mixte pour le développement de l’aquaculture et de la pêche en Pays de la Loire) have found greatly enhanced growth in the oysters grown using the BST system compared to the conventional bag and trestle method of culture. There has been considerable new interest in the use of the BST baskets in sub tidal situations. These are suspended on ladders, or similar structures, from mussel longlines. This offers exciting possibilities for the future.
