Boddingtons Ltd, extruders and converters of thermoplastic films, meshes and nets announce the acquisition of Acorn Planting Products Ltd. Based in Loddon, Norfolk, Acorn is a leading manufacturer of innovative tree protection products including mesh tree guards and spiral shelters as well as a range of ancillary products including mulching mats and tree ties.
 
John Warner, Chief Executive of Boddingtons Ltd, explains:
 
"Our acquisition of Acorn expands our portfolio of products serving the forestry and landscaping markets. New biodegradable tree shelters as well as the traditional spiral tree guards offer excellent potential for growth. We see good export and domestic opportunities by merging our two ranges under the Acorn brand. Simon Towler will remain as a Director and I very much look forward to working with him to develop the Acorn range further."

The manufacturing site based at Loddon will continue and further investment in plant and process technology is already planned. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
